Meeting safely
MATCHKLUS puts neighbours in touch. It does not vet them. Here is what we do check, what we do not, and how to look after yourself.
What we verify — and what we do not
We verify that an email address works. That is all, at this stage.
We do not check identity documents, we do not run background checks, and we do not verify phone numbers or KvK numbers. A business badge means someone typed a number, not that we confirmed it.
Treat ratings and reviews as what they are: the opinion of other members, not a guarantee.
Before you agree to a job
Talk in the chat first. Ask what the job involves and what tools are needed.
Look at the person’s profile and reviews. A brand new account is not a red flag on its own, but it is a reason to take it slower.
Agree the price and what it covers before anyone starts. MATCHKLUS holds no money and cannot settle a disagreement about it.
When you meet
Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to be back.
You are never obliged to let anyone into your home, and you can end a job at any point if you feel uncomfortable.
Keep the conversation in the app until you are comfortable. It is a record you can show us if something goes wrong.
Warning signs
Stop and report if someone:
- Pushes to move the conversation off MATCHKLUS immediately.
- Asks for payment up front, by bank transfer, gift card or crypto.
- Will not answer straightforward questions about the job.
- Pressures you to decide quickly, or makes you uneasy in any way.
If something goes wrong
Every profile, job and conversation has a Report control. Reports go to a moderator, and we never tell the other person who reported them.
Blocking is immediate and mutual: you stop seeing each other, and neither of you can start a Hello.
If you are in danger or a crime has been committed, contact the police. In an emergency in the Netherlands, call 112.
